boycotting by association

it just occurred to me while responding to a comment regarding the news of MySpace's deleting the largest Atheist/Agnostic group on the internet that it might be good also to let the advertisers on MySpace know why you won't be using their services either.

it's the internet. there are always other places to go, or, if nothing suits, to build. I'm fine with leaving MySpace, but I think that there need to be consequences besides a mass exodus of users. Murdoch and friends only understand the language of money, after all.

I stopped using MySpace a while ago. I never liked it and had only created an account because so many friends and aquaintances were using it and wanted to add me. The site is generally crap - it looks bad, doesn't play nice with certain browsers, has bad programming (for instance when I try to log in it tells me I need to be logged in to do that, uh ok). It will be no loss if it goes away, that's for sure. /end rant ;)

Damn. I mean, I expect bullshit from Murdoch and Co. but *sigh* this? Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be getting rid of my MySpace due to the fact that it is the point of contact for too many of my peeps. Damn.
