they had listed about thirty studies from 1943 onward, and I'm sure they all had different things to say about different aspects of the speech of hearing-impaired persons, so at a rate of about one study every other year I'd say that probably this finding inspires wooden prose as often as any other completely foregone conclusion.

they were in fact writing about vowel pronunciation in particular, but this was their big summing-up sentence.

I took a nap after this one before tackling the next 12,000-word essay. it was more interesting, but that was not so hard to achieve. :)
