the birthday outing was a success. low key as has been this whole winter break but delightful watching ziggy stardust at the theater with friends sharing surreptitious red vines and chocolate covered raisins and peanuts and scotch.

my friends know how to outfit themselves for a movie.

there are other things to be said but i am too tired to say them. tomorrow perhaps.

i can't stop listening to NYC by interpol. everyone says they sound like joy division and they do a little i guess but this particular song makes me think of a less whiney radiohead. i really like this dude's voice and of course the melody has me completely hooked. i'm such a sucker for pathos.

i wonder how many more times i can play it before my housemates want to strangle me.

ah the old familiar headache and fatigue. coupled with the overflowing recycling in the kitchen this could turn out to be a classic saturday of procrastination.

or i could do my dishes and take out the recycling and then settle in for a long guilt-free day on the computer. of all those things i thought about doing on it yesterday i accomplished exactly none. i could do all of them today!

what is it about morning coffee that makes you think you have a limitless supply of time before the sun goes down and you have to start thinking about going to bed?

well i still haven't decided how to present these on my website so i'm going to make several posts with three to four each of my favorites from joshua tree.
