see I thought by going to bed at 9:30 (on a Saturday night!) I would avoid sleeping until noon.
I can hear your laughter from here.
I have to grade papers today. I wanted to get some of my own work done as well but there are 11 papers and even though they are short I seem unable to grade more than three per hour which will take me very close to 4pm before I finish. if I finish. often at the 7th paper or so I can no longer make heads or tails of them.
I hate days like this.
if I could just complain: all the weather stations in SF are already reporting over 80F.
everyone else gets Fall. why don't we?
well there's one day out of my life I'll never get back. took 6 fncking hours to grade 11 papers. for the most part they weren't that bad but it just takes me so ftcking long to get through one that the day evaporated while I sat in the chair sweating because it just kept getting hotter and hotter.
and that's another thing. where's our fhcking seabreeze??
meanwhile for the past two evenings one of our neighbors has been cranking the volume on his or her stereo for ten seconds and then turning it down for thirty seconds and then turning it back up for five seconds and then turning it down for ten seconds and then turning it back up for twenty seconds and then turning it down etc and this is somehow ten times more annoying than if s/he were just to leave it on full blast for an extended period.
and of course it's fvcking world music.
and I just took the coldest shower ever where I could barely stand under the spigot it was so cold and here I am fifteen minutes later, sweat pouring off me.
I don't want to hear from you southerners WITH AIR CONDITIONING about how spoiled I am.
it's still really hot but I'm going to crawl up to my toasty loft and attempt to sleep. it's even hotter up there, of course.
