insomnia lag

I managed to fall asleep by 12:30 last night which would have been fine had my alarm not started going off at 7:15 this morning. in between snooze hits I kept dreaming I was getting dressed and then I would hear my alarm and think to myself what. I'm not up yet? dammit.

Santiago has no idea what is about to befall him. all the cats can tell is that for some reason I'm not providing them with breakfast. I keep telling Jackson to hold on. Santiago I just look at with pity while he obliviously dismantles my room, which he does so well.

off to the vet. poor little guy. I hate carrying them down mission street but at least my friend B gave me her old hardshell cat carrier so I don't have to use those cardboard ones from the spca. I'm always afraid they're going to come undone and deposit the cat on the sidewalk suddenly.

oh and in my morning getting-dressed dreams I always have a bunch of pretty shirts, many of which I have not yet worn, and I get all excited about picking one out to go with a particular pair of jeans and shoes. this morning I was choosing between florals and stripes only to wake up and realize I had the same old shirts as when I fell asleep.

::eyes macy's card::

I shouldn't complain. I have some nice shirts, some of which I don't wear very often because most of the time I'm lounging about in jeans and tshirt.

maybe I should dress up a little for today's meeting. it would be an excuse.

Santiago has been duly dropped off. he sang "99 bottles of beer on the wall" all the way to the vet. I hope he's ok. I mean I know he will be but putting them under is always worrisome. I've seen nasty surprise reactions to anesthesia but fortunately they are rare.

::pounds madly upon wooden head::

work. no wait. cereal then work.

yeah. restrict his activity for six days. ha. he's already running around and trying to jump up on the furniture and sometimes not making it which is pathetic and cute at the same time.

Santiago's fine. a little dizzy I think but fine. I keep telling him to be careful. I think he's beginning to realize that he can't take any flying leaps right now.
