today's high on potrero hill: 97.3F
every time I visit the wunderground forecast for San Francisco the fog gets pushed back another two or three days.
it's not ever really going to arrive is it.
time to get cozy with MySQL (thanks for the pronunciation pointers. now I know the WebGuy was a microsoftie) and see if I can get my little version of Movable Type to work with it. then I can actually start evaluating its usefulness to us. I really hope it doesn't end up being a bust because then I'm going to have to learn Mambo and I have a feeling it is even more complicated and has hidden requirements that will necessitate hours of reading.
but hey. it will look good on the CV once the project is up and running.
mysql runs. I don't know what to do with it and I don't know if anything needs to be tweaked to run Movable Type but I think the next step is to install MT and see what happens.
then in my spare time I can read: the PHP website. the MySQL manual. the o'reilly Apache Definitive Guide.
oh and work on the dissertation.
no I don't know what rules I follow for capitalization anymore. I do it when I feel like it.
it's still fuggin hot in here.
