fixation

I'm going to recommend Frog Eyes again just because The Golden River is the first album to get so completely under my skin since Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane Over the Sea or shannonwright's maps of tacit. especially difficult not to listen to repeatedly is "Soldiers Crash Gathering in Sparrow Hills." kind of Tom Waits-ish but considerably more insane. I'm loving it. everyone should love it.

Global Symphonic is having a sale wherein you get a free cd if you order The Golden River or The Bloody Hand, the latter of which is Frog Eyes' debut and supposedly "stunning" so I ordered it and will see. anyway the deal is $10 canadian which works out to just over $8 american with no additional shipping charges. 8 bucks for two new cd's can't be beat. go send them money!

oh and

Johnny Cash covers of Will Oldham's "I See a Darkness" and Nick Cave's "The Mercy Seat" are worth picking up from itunes or wherever you go to hopefully pay for online music. although I'm not that adamant about paying when the artist is dead so don't feel obligated to hold yourself to my standards.
