cat/otter hybrid

I'm off to school but wanted to tell you all about how Santiago jumps in the tub immediately after I shower and rolls around even though there is still standing water in it.

he's such a strange little fellow. he is also soaking wet. we think that soon he'll just be jumping in the shower with me from the beginning.

is it perverted to shower with your cat?

creative bill paying

I don't know whose idea it was to make payday for summer term the 8th of the month. people want money from me the first of the month! do you ever take turns as to whom you pay late each go round? this month I'm actually going to be a little late with the rent, which never happens. this will enable me to pay some other bills on time because until I actually get paid I can't do both.

my therapist has been letting me run a tab since april. she's so nice. of course she is also being a bit slow getting the paperwork done that I need to file this year's insurance claims so in a way it's not just my fault that I can't pay her. I should be getting back a few thousand dollars once the claim is submitted. well of course they will decide that a reasonable charge is about half of what any therapist anywhere would really charge and then they'll pay a percentage of that so who knows how much they will actually pay. why are insurance companies allowed to decide that the fair price is far below real prices? much as I'd like not to have to pay more than they specify for medical needs their "customary fee" is entirely imaginary and this should not be allowed.

if I were king of the world.

fatigue

it is not yet 7 and I am ready to go to bed. I could, I suppose, crawl up there with the latest volume of The Complete Peanuts. apparently the last one of this series will be printed in 2016. I guess that is only 11 years away but it seems like such a frightening number.

come to think of it I've never really considered just how far into the 21st century I might live. I suppose the goal is 2062, for 100 years, but I'd be happy to hit 80 in 2042. the thing that frightens me really is that that is some time from now and there are all sorts of appalling and horrid things that could happen between now and then. of course there are good things too but for instance whatever mess the current administration makes is one whose consequences I am still going to have to deal with.

well, unless jesus really does come back. in which case, see you in hell or limbo or purgatory or wherever.

but if I were to intuit that the crappy things I've already had to live through were going to happen to me again in the next forty years, I might give some thought to an early exit. hopefully the worst of the trauma is over.

of course by the time I'm 80 I'll be going to bed at 3 in the afternoon.
