So you all want to know how I feel about the books and movies I own, eh? OK then.

On Film:

1. Total number of films I own on DVD/video:

Only about 35. The vast (well it is modestly vast) majority of my DVD/Video collection consists of cartoons and british comedy.

2. The last film I bought:

"Das Wiegenlied vom Totschlag," which is merely the German subtitled version of "Soldier Blue" which is not available domestically.

3. The last film I watched:

"Trainspotting." I was unimpressed.

4. Five films that I watch a lot:

"Catch-22" (yes, still)
"The 400 Blows"
"Dead Man"
"Donnie Darko"
"Wings of Desire"

5. Tag 5 people and have them put this in their journal:

See below

On Books

1)Total number of books owned?

last count was about a year ago and netted 450. I've bought a few since then but not more than 50 I'd say.

2) The last book I bought?

On Escape - Emmanuel Levinas

3) The last book I read?

I'm in the middle of many many books but the last one I had in my hands reading it was Agamben's Remnants of Auschwitz

4) 5 books that mean a lot to me?

These three books each changed my life when I first read them years ago:

The Heart is a Lonely Hunter - Carson McCullers
Twilight of the Idols - Friedrich Nietzsche
How It Is - Samuel Beckett

These two were the most moving of the last decade:

The Coming Community - Giorgio Agamben
Blood Meridian - Cormac McCarthy
