  • Mood:

however you can get it

so by 3pm yesterday I gave up and went to bed. I figured it would probably turn out to be a 14-hour or so nap so I set the alarm for 5:30, put on my pjs, and fell out. around 9:30 I awoke to the incredibly discourteous people who live in the front of the building next to ours playing their stereo at some absurd volume. why do people think the whole neighborhood wants to hear their music? fucking drives me up the wall. no I don't think you have stupendous taste. I think you are stupendously dimwitted and unattractively self-centered.

so I put in earplugs after I checked around to make sure that there were no open windows to the back which is the place I most fear having santiago fall from and I went back to sleep, waking up once or twice before my alarm went off. I took the earplugs out around 3am. Santiago slept next to me almost the whole time.

and after all that I feel oddly sluggish. I think I will be going to campus today but I did not email the person I'm working with until this morning and I have no idea what time to expect him to email me back. so I guess in the meantime I should get back to work on the syllabus. if Adorno puts me to sleep again I'm going to have second thoughts about making the students read him.
